Luna Cycle Tracker Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 27, 2026
Information We Collect
When you create an account, Luna collects your email address, name, nationality, and language preference. When you use period logging, period start and end dates are processed in plaintext only on your device and encrypted before they are sent to the server. The server stores ciphertext, a nonce, and an authentication tag, not readable period dates.
Notifications
If notifications are enabled, Luna stores push tokens, timezone, next reminder type, and next reminder time to deliver reminders. You can turn notifications off in Settings at any time; Luna will clear scheduled reminders and stop server reminders.
Apple Health
Only when you turn on Apple Health sync in Settings and grant system permission does Luna write the period start and end dates you recorded directly from your device to HealthKit. Luna does not read data from Apple Health or upload Apple Health data to the Luna server. Turning sync off stops future writes, but records already written remain; you can manage or delete those records and permissions in the Health app.
How We Use Data
Data is used only to authenticate you, sync your records, provide reminders, perform the Apple Health export you enable, and maintain service security. We do not sell personal data or use health data for advertising, marketing, or data mining.
Account Deletion
You can request account deletion in Settings. After submission, your account is disabled, active sessions are revoked, notification tokens and reminder plans are cleared, and related services stop. Some account records may be retained for safety and audit purposes, but period data remains encrypted.
Security
Luna uses HTTPS for transport and device-side encryption for period records. Keep your password safe; if you change devices, you will need to log in again to restore local decryption.
